SPS

"SPS has a highly available system and we are able to perform service upgrades without taking the full service offline thereby minimising downtime impact on transaction processing for our clients and their customers."

Proven, state-of-the art technology platform

Exploiting effective technology sits at the core of what we do. And while it is important to use the most up-to-date systems, it's imperative that our technology doesn't fall over. It has to be reliable and robust.

That's why we only employ systems that are proven and tested, and why our systems rarely, if ever, go wrong. Adopting this approach means our clients benefit from high system availability. They also have access to a 24/7 help desk if a problem arises.

To ensure efficiency of service, we make use of ‘virtualisation', which allows us to host multiple operating systems and multiple applications locally and in remote location, freeing us from physical and geographical limitations.

The benefits of virtualisation for our clients include:

  • improved disaster recovery capability
  • high security
  • high availability
  • lower capital expenditure
  • increased efficiency and utilisation of hardware
  • energy savings

What this means is that we can deploy our services more rapidly and cost effectively for our clients.

Transaction management software

SPS's transaction management software is one of the world's most widely deployed software solutions running on an open systems platform that enables consumers to transact securely, anywhere, anytime, authorising and routing transactions in real- time.

Flexibility of our service

The flexibility of the SPS service lies in the modular design of our electronic payments platform. We can integrate different software components with our core electronic payments platform making it easy and cost effective for our clients to offer new services and channels to their customers.

This modular design approach provides our clients with easy to implement, cost-effective, scalable electronic payments solutions that are easily adaptable to the changing needs of their customers and the payments market.

Communication infrastructure

SPS Service is capable of handling a variety of communication links and communication protocols. SPS is able to standardise and reduce the complexity of device communications architecture by using our telecommunication products to convert device protocols into IP transaction messages prior to SPS processing the message. This enables SPS to process all transactions with a consistent format. SPS communication infrastructure is based on TCP/IP as standard and TCP/IP is the protocol to most interchange partner sites. The SPS terminal network infrastructure is also TCP/IP based at the device driving system end with GPRS and other wireless technologies utilised to connect to devices.

Up-to-the-minute status reporting

SPS provides up-to-the-minute status reporting of transaction response statistics, request response times, system throughput, and store-and-forward queue sizes, and more.
